Stubborn as a . . . .

Stubborn as a . . . .

I must admit I’m stubborn, argumentative and such.
All these adverse qualities have me in their clutch.
But my mother’s from Missouri and my dad’s family is Dutch,
so they’re  the ones to blame for it, thank you very much!

If you call it tenacity it ends up sounding better.
I go from being mulish to being a go-getter,
and my stubborn tendencies cease to be a fetter.
They serve me as an asset instead of as a debtor.

As dogged as a pit bull,  determined as a cat.
A bull can be most bullish, you can’t argue much with that.
You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink,
and nothing’s stubborn as a pig, no matter what you think.

So if you say I’m mulish, it’s neither here nor there.
Stubborn is one quality that’s not so very rare.
And when you point a finger and say I’m being rancorous,
the animal you’re channeling might be just as cantankerous!

Thanks, J2bee. I guess usually an hour or two, but sometimes I keep coming back to it and change a line here and there.. sometimes even changing it after it is published. The formatting and finding or taking the right photo enters into it also. Sometimes when pressed, they happen really quickly. This one took an hour from the first lines saved to the time I published it–probably because I used an illustration from the internet instead of doing my own. That is rare for me as I prefer to use my own photos.

Well, you do a great job at both writing and photography! I also use my own photos except a few of the ones published first on Candid Slice. I have hundreds of photos to choose from! Keep up the good work

Thanks, J2bee! I have 46,000 on this computer alone. And haven’t adquately recorded most of them in albums so have to sort through them more that would be otherwise necessary..I also need to reduce in size, etc, and do alot of cropping and other adjustments. All of that takes as much time as the writing.. But I do it because I love it so no complaints. It would go more quickly if I were more technically adept and used Photoshop, but we all do things according to our nature..which is what is so wonderful about blogging. I love the individual creativity of each one of you and what it inspires in me.
