Busted

Where once I was secure on top,
there’s now a tendency to plop.
So when I dance and when I bop,
unless I want to swing and flop,
I need to engineer a stop–
a sort of midriff traffic cop.

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

Thanks, rw. I’m visiting and traveling so they are short and sweet lately. At first I hated these one word prompts but have come to believe they leave more of an opening and added to what is going on at the moment, they are great to prime the pump.

        yea-ahh … hehe.
Still does not detract. From the notion … that none of my my quotient, would have taken the motion. Of the prompt, with a token, of such feminine charms.
        Cheers Jamie

Working in an emergency room I was always amazed by the older women who would fall and break a hip or arm, and would not come to the hospital without makeup and dressing for an outing. I was never able to imaging putting on a corset girdle with a fractured hip, but over the years I saw it more that once.

Ah, yes — I’ve done that lament! One day a physiotherapist offered this suggestion for those abundantly endowed and older now, working in public service: a spandex tank top. Bless her heart.
I read once how those old fashioned corsets actually arranged a woman’s organs. Complete with illustrations — not a nice picture. Because of this and other examples, I’ve concluded that fashion has never been kind to women. Those who live in “everyday clothes” fared, and do fare, a lot better.
