Ooh — a door picture from indoors out with the door open! Great shot!

Does it really have green gables? We have Orchard House locally, in Concord. It’s just as described in Little Women. Nathaniel Hawthorne lived next door in The House of Seven Gables. But it doesn’t have quite so many gables 🙂

Yes, but it was her cousin’s house she patterned the book on,not hers. And, after all, it is fiction, so this was all fabricated. Nice authentic displays of rooms from that era so as I told Norm, I just used it as a photo opportunity and tried to avoid being run over by the rivers of tourists flooding through from their buses.

Cute 🙂
I remember walking around there a bit when we were there about 15 years ago, but we didn’t go inside it was too crowded. Mid-summer, lots of tour buses…bad timing.

I know. Kind of a tourist trap. Not too exciting, except I got some great photos. All in all, I’d rather just read the book and imagine.

I loved these books, although I didn’t read them until I was an adult.

I’d love to visit PEI. I’ve heard it’s beautiful. I love the books and the movie with Megan Fellows as Anne. (Like your photo, too.) 🙂

Thanks, Janet. I think everyone loved those books. There was a TV series as well. And PEI is beautiful.

Looked like an optical illusion; thought there was a ladder outside the door. Nice capture!

I hadn’t noticed it from that persepective, but you are right. Love seeing new things in each photo.
