One of the songs our dad used to serenade us with was “Sweet Violets.” It was one song I knew all the lyrics to when I was a little girl. Still do. I bet you wish you could hear me singing along as you listen to it here. I’m curious about how many people recognize this song. If you do, please tell me so in the comments section. Did you sing along? I did. Every word.
For Cee’s daily flower prompt.

Absolutely I recognize this song! We weren’t allowed much contact with popular music, so I never learned the words, but I definitely was humming the tune and swaying to the music. Thanks for the serenade — and the photo, too!

I’ve no recollection of this song at all. What a difference 4 years in ages makes.

Isn’t that 5 years???? Hope you listened to the entire song, even though it isn’t your kind of music. It’s fun and clever in its switches. I adored it as a little girl.

Gee I have heard of Dinah Shore for years. Opps I just aged myself. Actually I knew her from her talk show. 😀
