From the Land of Sky Blue Waters

A blogger once jokingly asked me if I wrote poems in my sleep. I laughed, but darn. I’m writing poetry in my sleep now! Very early this morning, I was having a dream where for some reason, a woman told a man that he was the king of beer. He countered with this poem. I actually woke up in order to write it down. Crazy.

If I am the king of beers, I know you are the queen.
For you have the loveliest glass that I’ve ever seen!

Just because one writes poetry in their sleep it doesn’t mean it has to be the stuff of dreams. (If you don’t understand the title, you must be younger than I am.) First, go to this URL:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yHsoW6CTjM Then if you want more, go to the screen below.

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

G’lord! I remember that commercial! It’s mixed in my mind irretrievably with the cartoon movie of “The Hobbit” and the dwarves’ singing “Across the Misty Mountains . . . ” . . . don’t ask me why — it just always has been. 🙂

We didn’t get TV until I was 11, but I think these Hamms commercials might have been on the radio as well as they are so familiar and I associate them with the house we left when I was 11.
