Some shocking statements here, unfortunately quotes from our POTUS, but something everyone should see. Another good one from Lydia.
Denial is not absolution.
Donald Trump has done something no president has done before. He has exposed the hypocrisy of the evangelical right, and the GOP.
“Roy Moore denies it. That’s all I can say. He denies it. And by the way, he totally denies it.” ~ Donald Trump, sexual predator
There has been an undercurrent building, fueled by indignation at our society’s inclination to look the other way, make excuses for predators, and blame victims- while it protects those men who commit unspeakable crimes.
Trump’s endorsement of this man, whose predatory behavior was so blatant he was banned for life from a shopping mall, can only feed the backlash against abuse and empower more victims to come forward naming their attackers.
Trump isn’t the only politician to dismiss Moore’s crimes. Alabama Governor Kay Ivy has stated she believes the accusers, who say Senate hopeful Roy Moore sexually harassed and…

This whole thing is so sad for a number of reasons. Predators should never get away with harassment and other violent crimes. The opposite is also true: no one should get away with falsely accusing someone just to get their hour in the spotlight. The problem is that it’s pretty hard to tell the difference — because a lot of (supposed) incidents have taken place with no witness. Really, as long as no one sees, anyone can accuse anyone of anything
We had a situation here in Sask where three children accused their foster parents and a grandpa of occult rights and sexual assault and what have you, and totally ruined the adults’ lives. National news. As adults the two sisters admitted that the third, their brother, put them up to this and there was no truth in it. I’ve also seen where a recording “turns up” from “unknown sources” and ruins the life a perfectly decent public figure — likely because he was going to undertake some needed prison reforms. You can do a lot with electronics nowadays.
These things are too common. I know about sexual assaults and so do my sisters, plus we have a family situation where a young girl and her brother were molested for some time by a step-parent. She was diagnosed at age twelve and died at age sixteen of ovarian cancer. No charges laid. It’s a crime!
I haven’t followed much of this media coverage. I realize public figures and people with money are often targets for accusations of various types and I hate to see anyone ruined by unproven accusations. If they have been proven, these characters deserve to be ruined. But when it comes down to one person’s word against another, I’d be very cautious about shame-blame. Men can lie and so can women and children.

It sickens me to read thru different social media posts from women in Alabama that are not only voting for him, but make excuses for him.

And some of them have daughters they adore who one day will be groped by someone like him and have their mothers to thank for it.

Hard to believe that any adult could believe that denying something is the same as innocence.
