This giant rubber tree stands in the back courtyard of the Nueva Posada in Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico. These are plants growing at its base, not its own leaves.

What an interesting root structure. If I remember correctly, some of the roots have dropped down from branches to take hold around the main trunk, like a banyan tree.

How interesting — a large wise trunk with a lot of nooks and crannies!!! Thank you for sharing!

Wow! That’s one amazing structure, considering it “built” itself.

Well. I guess all my potted rubber tree plants were just sprigs! I’m always surprised to see how big these plants grow “in the wild.” I have a Norfolk Island pine” in a pot at the moment and Taswegian tells me they grow 300 feet high — not going to happen in MY dining room.
