This cheerful tidy little house is tucked down a flight of stairs between two businesses on the highway (carretera) that runs through Ajijic in Jalisco, Mexico.

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

A really neat house. In Europe, Douglas and I learn to live in smaller spaces. But, when we are home in America, nothing so small will do. It is an enigma, as we know we can live with less but don’t even try. American materialism has us in its grip.

I know. We are spoiled. The point is you can be happy anywhere but if you can afford a larger house, why not? The think I object to is people who have three or four huge houses they spend very little time in. Seems such a waste when people are homeless.
