I know. I wonder if this was all on the first take or if they had to do it over and over?

I guess it was rehearsed over a period of time!

Isn’t it sweet? Did you manage not to cry? I cry at the drop of a hat lately.

I did lose a tear or two — happy tears! I cry easily these days too, Tom will have surgery tomorrow for a cancerous lymph node as a result of skin cancer — I’m pretty tense about it, though he seems to be taking it in stride. Just adds to the tears when I watch things like this!

I know. It is usually due to more than one factor when the tears come..even though one particular thing may trigger them. How old is Tom?

He turned 90 the day before Thanksgiving!

I asked that question too — not enough OR’s in the fancy new hospital building!

I guess all the surgeons want to get their work done before Christmas week! And Tom’s case warranted not waiting till after the first of the year.

The plan is for his daughter to be with him until I get there. I will go on Sunday — unless it’s going to rain hard, in which case I’ll try to go Saturday. I’ll then stay till January 6.

They will do the surgery in an outpatient facility across the street from the hospital, then take him across the street and admit him to the hospital for a day or two. He asked how they would get him from one place to the other — it will be by ambulance! I wonder if there will be a pied piper entourage like the one in your clip!

Ha. That seems strange to me. Why not do it in the hospital?
