What’s for Lunch?

So I had just sat down to my lunch and Forgottenman Skyped. I described what I was eating and he said, “Photo?” So now, 35 minutes later my soup is cold and I’m down to three fried wontons, having consumed approximately two per photo shoot. In every one, the soup looked gray, the wontons greasy…so I had to keep trying. Here they are with all their warts:

The wontons are chicken and cilantro, the homemade soup chicken, broth, onions, green beans, potatoes, corn, onions, rice, sour cream, salsa  and—that’s all I can remember. I notice an increasing amount of food being discussed since our sequestering. Do you?

Yes, I’ve also noticed that everyone is turning into a food blogger. I guess people have to occupy themselves with something, and food is always comforting.
Strangely, I am not blogging about food or anything, for that matter; I am too busy guiding my students through remote (online) learning and trying to finish this semester without putting extra pressure on them.
Your ceramic plates are gorgeous, Judy, and so is your food displayed on them.

Ecept for my gray soup.. it really wasn’t that gray, but I had eaten most of the veggies out of it before FGM pursuaded me I had to photograph it. It really is pretty good. I just kept adding things until it tasted right.. How I usually cook, actually.

Looks delicious.  I had my first avocado toast for lunch yesterday.  I have plenty of food and now have to cook😄.  Today I’m making some thing with hamburger, guacamole and salsa🤠

We have enough food for meals, but not enough for extras. We basically eat 1 meal a day. Toast with coffee and dinner. That’s it. The only thing I have enough of to eat an unlimited amount is rice. Better than starvation.

Yes I did. I used to make compost soup for the hens and mixed it with their dried cornmeal they loved it.

Jackie’s compost soup prompted me to make a batch of mine on that day too.
Everything gets thrown in, but now out of veg until tomorrow, all I have left is lettuce and potatoes! 🙂
