The Ojo del Lago just reran this piece on writers who live in the Lake Chapala area. It was written by Jim Tipton, a wonderful local poet who passed away a few years ago. It gives a view of the vast variety of writers who live here. Go here to see it: https://www.chapala.com/lakechapala/writers-at-lakeside/

You’re doing good work.

Hi Judy,
Thanks for sending this. I really enjoyed reading it and got a little nostalgic. Even though I only visited that one time last fall when Gina and I stayed in Ajijic for that week after our retreat, I liked being there and feeling like I could be a part of the bigger community when I came again in June and for a longer stay in November. Well, here it is June and my plans, like an entire planet of others, got waylaid. Sigh. I don’t know if you all have talked about it at all, but I doubt we’ll be traveling in November either. Sigh again.
Oh and I meant to tell you earlier: my friend Jill Hall had a poem published in The Poeming Pigeon “Cosmos” issue and as I flipped through the pages of the copy she sent to me, I found you and your “Stars” poem. What a delightful surprise. You poem brought back memories of sleeping outside, sneaking out bedroom windows, babydoll pajamas and all that adolescent milkyway of emotions.
Love always, reading what you’ve written, on your blog or otherwise.
