This two part blog by Forgottenman is one that absolutely captures how many of us are feeling, I think, so want to share it with those who don’t already follow his blog.
serial monography: forgottenman's ruminations
Most of my friends here are, um, mature enough to remember the movie “Network” from 1976. “I’M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!” This sentiment has been percolating, stewing, rising, in many of us the last few weeks. Yes, I’m talking about George Floyd and officer Derek Chauvin, about Michael Brown and officer Darren Wilson… I could spend all night cataloging. But another one happened yesterday at a Wendy’s in Atlanta. Rayshard Brooks and an unnamed officer, who has been fired. This video by my favorite commentator, Beau of the Fifth Column, sums it up SO well that I feel compelled to share it here.
And here’s a look at that wonderful shot from “Network”.
A great post —

Great video. I’m perplexed, saddened and angry with what happened at the Wendy’s in Atlanta. Beau said it better than I could. Everyone should watch this video.

Something to think about. I’m re-sharing this because I think people will have a wide variety of reactions. I’ll write about what I thought of the video on my own blog. I really like that guy, he’s usually sensible and seems to be fair. Today? I’m not convinced 100% that he is. A little bias is showing in my opinion. But again, he provides food for thought and I believe that’s his goal.
