There is Hope for Our Earth When People Act!!!

With the Amazonian rainforest being deforested at the rate of three football fields per minute, there is still hope if individuals choose to act.

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

The current government of Pakistan also initiated a project of billion trees in the country within few years. Project started up back in late 2018 and it gained momentum the following year.
But due to COVID-19, no more info on that in 2020.

It horrifies me that the Amazon rainforests are being deforested — Not far away, the Panama Canal depends upon rainforest water in order to continue operating — it’s a cycle or rain in the forest, rivers down to the canal, locks manipulating the water in the canal, water out to the ocean where it evaporates and begins the cycle again. If we continue to be so destructive, we are destroying not only nature but also the things that we have built that are supported by nature.

I know and it occurred to me that even if they are reforesting in other countries, those are small starter trees trying to replace fully established forests. Scary that there are no international laws governing these matters important to the entire planet.
