2:45 P.M. Sent a message that I was coming up from the studio to get some lunch and evidently lay down for a minute on my bed to rest before going back down to the studio.
8:15 P.M. Awakened, not sure if that was the sunset or the sunrise. Discovered it was the sunset of the third longest day of the year and went to the kitchen to feed the cats. Raining hard. No swim tonight.
10:25 P.M. Sent a message to Forgottenman that somehow the trip to feed the cats had resulted in my cooking a chicken curry, now in the oven and a pot of barley, now in the steam cooker. (Yes, it really did take that many dishes to create the chicken curry and barley!)
11:11 P.M. Sitting down to chicken curry and barley
11:23 P.M. It was delicious! Now, do I go to bed or am I up for the day?
Sleep now! May tomorrow be a good day.

It does look delicious. I have no idea how to make chicken curry. Want to come cook for me?

I thought you didn’t like curry.

I bought a pressure slow cooker and love it. Do you have one? Every time I make curry I make it differently but I can send you a sorta recipe.
Or you can come and I’ll cook it for you when our time is up.

The next time the girls come perhaps I’ll come, too, and cook you all curry. I can always get a room if it’s too much of a strain to arrange for an extra bed…

May I please have a bite too?

I would give you a whole plateful if it were possible. I gave some to Miguel who said it tasted exactly like a Mexican dish. Can’t remember the name.

Can’t imagine Indian spices in Mexican cooking. I’ll have to ask him again what he thought it tasted like and look it up.

It really doesn’t, but both have carrots, potatoes and onions. I used yellow peppers. the Picadillo, which is the Mexican dish, uses hotter chiles. It uses hamburger. i used chicken. I added dried cranberries and coconut to give the sweetness. The spices are completely different. I think he just thought they looked alike.

They do look alike, but you’re right that they are quite different!. I actually threw some “curry powder” into something I was cooking a week or two ago, just to create a different flavor — it was reminiscent of, but not the same as a real curry!

It’s so disorienting when you fall asleep like that. I’ve done it a few times and never know if it’s morning or night. You must have been very tired.
