Is it not tabachine?

No. I think it is most likely an unopened trumpet vine, looking at the flowers I photographed around it. I thought it was another plant–the one I can never remember the name for–but that is unlikely as it is down by my studio and all the plants photographed at the same time as this one are around the pool. Plant sleuthery!
