I have held a gun only once — in the wilderness of Washington State, with a friend who was in the Navy. I fired it once — I realized that I had NO idea where the bullet went or where it landed — and it scared me so badly that I have never wanted to handle a gun again!

I know. I took the NRA hunter safety course in the seventh grade. But never owned a gun.
