In Memorium

In Memorium

Disputes in terms of burial often may arise
when a family member meets with their demise.
Some crave a tasteful marble slab engraved with just a name,
while others wax panegyric, professing lives of fame.
The freedom to adorn the grave of one who’s gone above
with  flowers and with carvings of angel, lamb or dove,
is stretched as far as human taste allows one to express.
and as much as families are willing to confess.
Some histories are written clear. Others we have to guess.
In death as in their lives, showing their natures, more or less.

Prompts for the day are freedomdispute, tasteful, panegyric and burial.

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.
