This was a surprise find in my garden the other day. I know what it is. Do you? I’ll tell after five guesses!!!! It is huge, by the way. At least a foot long. Actually, the second two people guessed correctly. It is a banana bloom! I’m going to have bananas this year!!!
For Cee’s FOTD. See her beautiful echinacea HERE.

I did a reverse-image Google search, so I know. But I have SO many nsfw fake guesses to make!

It looks very similar to a Banana flower (Banana blossom), but the leaf behind it has made me little-bit confused. 🤔

First time I’ve seen a banana bloom. I would never have guessed what it was. 🙂

I think the first one I ever saw bloom was in La Manzanilla fifteen years ago or so. Or maybe I’ve had mine longer than that. Can’t remember. I can only remember harvesting bananas once, though, so think they are a more recent addition to my garden.

I might have guessed banana blossom, because I’ve seen them before on blogs. Great photo 😀

You are right, of course. Did you have a good crop this year?

Average, but none of us get them; they go to the landscaping guys.
