Cat Blanket

The Cat Blanket

The kitties were all girlcatting it around outside when I lay down on the sofa, but when I woke up after a 3-hour unplanned nap, they were covering about all of me. I had been listening to a book on my Kindle when I fell asleep, but I suddenly realized it had a camera on it, so then and there, I learned how to use my Kindle to take these photos and how to send them to my computer, all while lying under a cozy cat blanket! I love it that I’m just the bottom cat in the pile.

At the time I had 5 cats. Now I’m down to two. One older cat (not pictured) died shortly after this photo was taken. The boy cat who is still alive didn’t join the girls here but cooly distanced himself on my desk chair. Two of the girls pictured later diaappeared…no doubt victims of animals wild or domestic up in the mountains by my house.

It is nice, huh? I miss having four kitties cavorting in bed or sleeping with me on the sofa. Sometimes I have three dogs in bed with me but if they were all on top of me, it would be suffocating! Especially Morrie. As it is, one is on the pillow over my head, Morrie beside me and Zoe by my legs or on them. If I have to turn over, it is a chore.

If there was the least little opening there, Zoe liked to burrow all the way under my neck from side-to side, burrowing through my hair. I loved it when she did it. So funny. But she hasn’t done it for ages. She was so joyful as she worked her way in between my hair and neck and the pillow that would give way to accept her!
