Well-Fed?

Oscar comes three times a week to walk the dogs, but  now that school is in session, sometimes he comes late in the afternoon instead of very early in the morning.  He is so quiet that I can never tell if he’s been here in the morning or not, so I asked him to put a note on the door of the dogfood and fridge cabinet in the doggie domain so I’d know they’d been fed as otherwise they do all they can to persuade me they haven’t. Do you think he perhaps overdoes his notifications?

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

No, he puts them up to remind me he’s been there as he gets there so early and is so quiet that often the dogs come back inside and wake me up when he’s gone and pretend he hasn’t been there so I feed them again. Little devils. If I hear that he’s here, once they leave my room to run outside for breakfast and a walk, i close the screen and put a cord around the door so it won’t open and they can’t get back into the bedroom to pounce on me. Ourch.

You got it! And they are sooooo good at it. The cats are even better. Getting so I have to put out a note to remind myself I’ve fed them. And need it for both doors.. Cats at kitchen door, dogs at back door, because sometimes I feed one group and forget to feed the other.

Yes, but I’m the one with the placards, i.e. Alimente los gatos!!!! and “I’ve fed the dogs. I’ve taught English to Oscar, so his are in English. Yolanda, who feeds the cats on days she’s here, needs her notices in English on days I get up early and feed them first.
