In Mexico, it is traditional to decorate sugar skulls for Day of the Dead. These skulls are a bit kookier than usual!

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

Martha, I just followed your advice and entered my book for the Indie Books prize. I never would have thought to do so, so I thank you. If I win, you win a prize, too. I won’t tell you what…I’ve appreciated your friendship for all these blogging years. What year did you move to CO? We were blogging friends before you moved….

I’m glad, Judy! I hope your book does great! 🤞

I started this blog almost 10 years ago to the day. I think that our friendship started pretty soon after that. I moved here 9 years ago!
