Wallpaper

Here is my poem in answer to K.F. Hartless’s prompt
to write 50 words or less in response to this image.
Sorry, K.F.  but I cheated and went 11 words over.

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

Another drink to Marilyn Monroe Calendar

    Loved your body until
    I had that second refill
    then things began to fade
    how are your feet made!?

    Your hips were so divine
    but now no longer supine
    a blur before my eyes
    in focus, then it dies.

    Girls like you look tall
    even hanging on the wall.

The line spacing is so perfect in this poem. You use form and limited words to really give that ignored wallpaper feeling. Thank you so much for writing with me on this one. I love the gravity of this piece.
