Fibbing Friday for Nov 24, 2023

Fibbing Friday goes Shakespearean!

1. What light through yonder window breaks?
– Burglars!

2. Alas, poor Yorick………………..
– we named him poorly.

3. Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?
– Where did you hang the painting my folks gave us?

4. To be, or not to be…………………….
– The mental quandaries of a would-be apiarist.

5. All the World’s a stage……………………
– Personal slogan of Donald Trump.

6. All that glisters…………
– eventually tarnishes.

7. Give every man thy ear……………
– Bad advice given to Van Gogh.

8. Neither a borrower nor a lender be……
– Unfortunate slogan of a bank that went out of business.

9. Many a true word…………
– was twisted into untruth.

10. Do not swear by the moon……………..
– what in the light of day you do not intend to fulfill.

For Fibbing Friday’s prompt

Note from ForgottenMan: Judy is almost home (bouncing in a taxi from Guadalajara to San Juan Cosala) as I prepare to post this. I sent these prompts to her this afternoon on Skype, and she nailed all 10 responses back on Skype in less than 10 minutes. I’ve transcribed them here & posted at her direction. Welcome home, Judy!

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

Janet, I’m happy to keep the link going when Judy’s stretched thin. I’m not much heartened to post often, as the few posts I make generally don’t get many views, if any. But thanks for the encouragement!
