For the Lens Artists Challenge: Unique
Update: Tina Schell asked about the caterpillar, which goes through several phases before becoming a hummingbird moth. You can see several the stages in my old blog post HERE.
And HERE is another blog with even more stages of the caterpillar.
You definitely have some unique creature shots here. I love the first one, and the spoon holder is wonderful!

That was a lucky find. I’ve never seen one like it in the 21 years since I bought it. I sorta think they intended for plants to be planted in it but I decided it makes a perfect spoon holder.

That brown bug with the white spots is one of the weirdest things I’ve ever seen Judy! Do you know what it is? Some super unique images!

The caterpillar? It is the larvae of the hummingbird moth. As is the green one.

Thanks, Sadje. Glad you aren’t “bug shy.” I find insects to be fascinating. Especially in tropical and subtropical climates.

I wouldn’t want to touch them, but looking at photos makes me realize how intricate and beautiful they are.

Dozens of these creatures infest my Virginia Creeper every year. Fascinating to see them develop through their stages.

And to be able to see them as more than pests…

At times I’ve had them lined up on the terrace table in 4 different stages. After I initially posted this, I posted photos in other stages but don’t think I have that one.. need to check.
