Out dog — the Duke of Uxbridge — does not fit that description at all. He’s a picky eater, yet always begging for more. He doesn’t complain only because his English isn’t up to par. He doesn’t understand and sulks if he doesn’t get constant attention. Of course we totally love him.

My dogs gobble down anything put before them. Recently I haven’t been able to finish my meals so they always get a bit of human food each day. They devour whatever I put down.

You know, in my living room, I have a gold statue of a dog meditating like this. Long live dogs!

I have one of a cat doing the same. I put it in my closet over the catfood so I see it twice a day when I feed the cats. When my friends John and Cleo died, I supervised the packing up, remodel and decorating of their house because it was the Covid year and none of their kids could get down to do it…and their housemate who was trying to do it had died as well. Their son told me to pick what I wanted from the house and I picked it..Then when my friend Harriet saw it, she laughed and said that she had actually brought it to my Xmas party years before for the white elephant gift exchange and John and Cleo had wound up with it. I guess it wanted to be mine all along and reached me by that circuitous route.
