The baby in the pink hat is being held by her mother who is 14 years old. She has the baby strapped to her chest while she juggles balls at the side of the busiest interchange in town. She came here from Chiapas “to work.” I always stop and talk to her and give her money but I must find out more of her story and figure out some way to help her as I can’t imagine that this is the “work” she came here for. Or at least it shouldn’t be. I need someone who speaks better Spanish than I do to help me discover the rest of the story.
