Movie Flop

We went to a cinema called the Cinema Grill where they had reclining seats and served meals and drinks, including alcohol.  Worst movie, worst food., worst margaritas  We lasted about 15 minutes $40 down the drain. If you are considering seeing the new Superman, my advice is, don’t bother.

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

Yeah but I understand that — for reasons I’ll never understand — Iggy Pop’s and Teddy Bear’s “Punk Rocker” featured in the movie. I’m a lot less worried every day about whether or not I understand reality.

I was waiting for it to show up on TV. The quality of so many new movies is all effects without anything resembling a script. I think it’s all being written for teenagers going there on date nights. They certainly aren’t aiming any of this at US.

    Oh, my goodness, Judy!

    Wait, there’s another Superman movie?

As someone who fondly remembers the original Superman television show and the 1970s Superman movie, which even featured Richard Pryor, I can’t help but feel a bit nostalgic. And let’s not forget the two versions of Superman made over the past twenty years.

Amidst the flurry of remakes and reboots, I’ve made it my mission to cherish and seek out the original works, because every reboot and remake appears on some form of streaming service thirty days after its theatrical release.

Simple honesty. I like it. Seeing the trailers for this round I have been rather wary of it. Truth is, though, for better or worse, I have somehow managed to make it a mission of mine to see every superhero movie; partly to count and compare. It’s my son’s fault, though. He made me do it. I promise.

Do you mean you like the movie or like that I was honest about hating it? You know, I also hated and walked out of the Barbie movie, so I am aware that my taste in movies is not necessarily the norm…so I hereby grant thee permission to love the new Superman, as do 90% of the people who have seen it. ;o)

I have not seen the movie (yet). I meant I like that you were honest in sharing your opinion about it. And I have assiduously avoided seeing the Barbie movie. Not sure I am going to ‘love’ the new Superman’ movie. I suspect I will be chalking it up as another mediocre/lame superhero movie.

Aha.. so young people still go to the movies for that purpose? Thought that was a thing of the past. What I have found lately is that he sound is so LOUD, in spite of my declining hearing.
