My neighbors across the street in Mexico just called to tell me the transformer on the pole above my studio is on fire. I’ve been talking to her and to Yolanda’s family for the past half hour and it is still burning. They are waiting for the Electric Company to turn off the power because evidently they can’t put out an electrical fire with water. I am still in the U.S. Going home tomorrow. This is been quite a day. I spent the first half of it in the hospital having a bone marrow biopsy. Not as bad as I feared, but still…..
Just got a message from my neighbor in Mexico that Antonio from the Raquet Club and another man climbed up on my studio roof and put out the fire with an extinguisher. I can sleep in peace. Such a relief.
Aug 1––2:53 PM I’m home and all is well. Have electricity!!! Yay.
Yikes!

Sekiy! All is now the opposite. I’m home and happy.Miguel was waiting at the airport to whisk me home–well, with a few traffic snarls. I enjoy talking to him so the trip home was pleasant if longer than usual.

It was an event-filled day. Now all packed and ready to get up at 4 a.m. to go to the airport to return to Mexico. I may not have electricity. My next door neighbor came over and told Yolanda to get out the candles..It was an electrical transformer that was on fire.

No news on the biopsy for perhaps a week, but I do have electricity! Yay.

Me, too, Sadje. All looks great…a new transformer box and electricity . No discernible damage to my house.

When it rains it pours..A good metaphor for the fact the fire was eventually put out. Yay. And I’m home. Double yay.

Happy you have friends and neighbors keeping an eye on your place while you are gone. Hoping the city inspector comes out to diagnose and repair it.
Bone marrow biopsy sounds frightening. {{{HUGS}}}

I was so dreading it, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought and the dr. and nurses and attendants all cheerful and fun and supportive. That helps. And…it’s over!!!

When will you know results? I don’t want to ask why you had to have one.

They said it might take a week. I don’t understand their portal very well and I’m back in Mexico now..so we’ll see.

Got the results today. I got the results I wanted…the lesser of two evils…Lisa, have you given up your WordPress blog? I got a message from a Lisa who did and was hoping it wasn’t you. She has a Blogger blog, but no personal info.

The results you wanted is all I need to know.
No I didn’t. I do have a Blogger blog, actually 2 or 3 on different topics, but I only use the account now to comment on other Blogger blogs. Maybe they are deleting accounts of people who aren’t using them anymore? I’m sure I’ll find out soon.

No.. someone named Lisa said she had deleted her WordPress blog and sent a link to a blogger blog with just the name Lisa..no other info. I was hoping it wasn’t you, but you hadn’t posted on dVerse Poets yet so that increased my fear..Glad it wasn’t you as i really only read blogs on my Reader.. with a few exceptions.. And didn’t know if you had to be on WordPress to do dVerse Poets..All questions now answered.

That’s all you need – a fire on the roof while having a bone marrow biopsy! Thank G-d the fire is taken care of, but now you have to take care of your health, dear Judy.

Glad it was taken care of before things got ou5 if hand.
When I worked at the cancer center, I witnessed a bone marrow biopsy. I hear some doctors really have the touch, cause the Dr I saw doing it looked kind of rough. I hope yours was the former.
I also pray you are ok! 🙏
