Quetzalcoatl–2 1/2 Hours Later.

Believe it or not, it took me 2 1/2 hours to paint the green scales on the other side of the neck, the snout and the gold coil. That said, I was able to finish before the sun came up over the house and trees and I met a neighbor, his grandchild and daughter-in-law as well as a passerby with pup!  Here are their photos:

(I promise I didn’t paint the shoes!!!!)

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

It was just charming. Adorable toddler, a mother and child from Sweden visiting, with her husband, his Mexican parents. I asked if the child was going to grow up learning 3 languages and they said yes. Both mother and Grandpa fluent in English as well as their native languages. I said that is the best gift a child can receive, other than love….languages!!

Ha.. What a coincidence that was. I did the gold coil with paint and then brushed on metallic gold power with a soft brush while the paint was still wet. I ended up with gold dust sandals as well, but it washed off. Wish I’d taken a photo.

You should have, and not washed them off either! I love the gold. How dedicated you are. The good news is that you have something to show for your 2.5 hours. 🙂 xxx
