For the first time, Ollie didn’t show up for dinner tonight. I’ve looked everywhere he could be. I don’t think he ever left my property and he is not here. His sister has been yowling for past half hour or so. I am so sad. Afraid he is gone for good. I don’t think he ever went up the hill or into the street so he must be on my property unless some wild animal or dog got him. So so sad.
This is Ollie when he first showed up at my door with his three sisters. He was runt of the litter.
Here he is with his sisters, Kukla and Fran, after they’d all been fed for a few weeks. Roo is barely on view…just her ears.
Ollie is the one in the middle–no longer runt of the litter–– and Roo is above him, Kukla in front. Fran is missing in this pic.
And….guess who just showed up an hour later? After his mom had at least 3 anxiety attacks?
WHAT A RELIEF!!!!! I SWEAR, HE HAS NEVER ONCE IN THE 8 YEARS HE’S BEEN LIVING HERE EVER MISSED A MEAL!!!!

I am so sorry Judy.

He came back!!! Thanks be…I guess I overreacted because he has never ever in 7 plus years ever been late for a meal.

Ha. A friend gave me a catnip mouse for them and they ignored it!

Thanks, Belinda. Embarrassed that I was so panicked over this but based on past behavior, I was sure he’d been hit by a car or carried away by a wild animal or dog. Such a relief.

I completely understand. If it happened to me, I’d have the same reaction.

Thanks, Belinda. I’m really embarrassed that I panicked so badly, but after my little rescue dog drowned last year, I am just scared to death of losing another.

I was so upset I was hyperventilating. It was just not like him not to be there waiting when I came to feed them. Never ever happened before and there are lots of wild animals in the hills above and dogs in the streets at times. I’ve never known him to leave the yard. So relieved.

Whew! I saw the first picture and feared the worst, too. So glad he returned. Now … it sounds like a case of teleportation, like my cat Weena did one time. She was a house cat, never outside, but she was gone, just gone. Then she returned right where we last saw her. We’d looked everywhere. So many mysterious things and we just never know. 🙂

He got lots of hugs. He looked at me like, ‘What’s up with that, Mom?”

Aha.. Guy Fawkes night! Hadn’t heard it referred to as bon fire night. Nor had I heard it referred to since leaving Australia. Not celebrated in America, North or Central or South, so far as I know. We just finished with Day of the Dead which surprisingly had few fireworks this year.
