Mystery solved. All in all, he removed about a dozen of them, which I safely relocated in the spare lot. How could we kill anything that turns into something that looks like a hummingbird? Unfortunately, I’ve never gotten a photo of one.

It is called a tiger lily. We had them in South Dakota, as well, when I was growing up.

That wiggly thing was actually four crocodiles in the river across the street from where I stayed in La Manzanilla. Guess you wouldn’t have wanted to go for a boat ride with me?

Your galleries always make me smile. F.e. I love the stone-owl near the Holiday-“glasses” and the way, you combined the ornaments of the crocodile with those of the red flower and the sun mural.

That “stone owl” is actually a wooden piece carved by my husband. I hung it on a palm tree in my backyard here in Mexico and the plants had grown up around it. The quote is from Winnie the Pooh…”And owl moved to some other tree.” It seemed appropriate that it reside in the garden on a tree.
