Welcome to “The Numbers Game #117. Today’s number is 239. To play along, go to your photos file folder and type the number 239 into the search bar. Then post a selection of the photos you find that include that number and post a link to your blog in my Numbers Game blog of the day. If instead of numbers, you have changed the identifiers of all your photos into words, pick a word or words to use instead, and show us a variety of photos that contain that word in the title. This prompt will repeat each Monday with a new number. If you want to play along, please put a link to your blog in comments below.
A lovely Monday morning from Germany! It’s still chilly and white from frost outside, so I like to see all the warmth in your gallery. This is mine for today:
What are the winged creatures on top of the Burlington building called? They are my favorites.. Much scarier than the dog on my roof. Thanks for joing us this week once again, Lou.
Love the dog on a roof, the cat in a planter, and the sepia toned open road. What’s the speckled thing thing with dark bands and light squiggles? A caterpillar? Here’s mine this week: https://grahamsisland.com/2026/03/24/the-numbers-game-117/

Those are the flying monkeys from The Wizard of Oz. The first time I saw them, I had to take a fast look back because they were so scary.

I didn’t remember their looking this mechanical. Is this from the new Wizard of Oz or the original?

I’m not sure which, but they look like they were cut and welded from plate steel.

I like the roof dog and all the orange colors in your photos. Pretty flowers and cute puppies, too. Here are mine:
