Insomnia
I’m lying awake when I should be snoring,
but falling asleep is simply too boring.
Lying here quiet with nothing to do
with nothing to listen to, nothing to view
just makes me restless, unable to snooze.
I need some amusement, a snifter of booze—
something to make me forget to recall
that falling asleep’s not the end of it all.
I cannot help but resent this time wasted
when things could be written or looked at or tasted
instead of just lying inert in my bed
with my eyes shut but images filling my head
that tend to confuse and to fill and encumber
this time that good sense says should be spent in slumber.
The prompt for RDP is “Insomnia.”

Great poem!
If it’s real, I can recommend some sleep gummies. 😁

Go to enjoyfive.com and choose the knockout sleep gummies. They are only 5 mg but they worked really well for me. They are 39.99 but they have discounts and specials all the time.

How nice that you like to stay awake. I love to fall asleep early.

I actually have for a number of months been wanting to sleep and can’t…either early or late. Until recently.

Ha, this is the first thing I read after an awful night of tossing and turning.

Tiffany, I bought a bed that is automated so I can raise up the head into a near sitting position and it has made a big difference.
