wars, tsunamis
murdered mommies
global warming
cancers forming
mad religions and heretics
engineering our genetics
drug cartels
emptying wells
mounting debt
nuclear threat
I hate to say it
but every day it
is getting worse
this global curse
and human capers
in all the papers
so all in all
it’s an easy call
I find less friction
in reading fiction!
For Fact or Fiction?

”I find less friction
in reading fiction!”
So succinctly and appropriately put for all of the reasons you listed in your poem, Judy. Brilliant.

I am getting so I return half of the books I “buy” on Audible because they get so painful to listen to that I can’t stand them. They need a special category for those of us so overwhelmed by the daily news that we need our fiction with kid gloves.

It has indeed become worse, people have taken their lead from the orange fool that you can do as you please, and so …. what was constrained, even hidden, is now brazen.
