I believe this is a Physostegia Virginiana or Obedient plant flower, based on the leaf shape.

I took a walk around the front of the house to find “a” photo for today’s FOTD. Kukla accompanied me (without invitation) and photobombed numerous shots, most of which I deleted. As usual, I had trouble making up my mind, so here are a “few” of the shots. Click on photos to enlarge.
I ended at the east gate to the backyard.
See Cee’s beautifully composed flower pic HERE.
The plant guide says “Plant with caution!” Wish I’d read this nineteen years ago when I first received starters of these from my friend. They have spread everywhere!!!!! The flowers don’t last that long, but the tall plants pop up everywhere.

I could not decide which of these shots I liked the best, so here they all are! Shot this early evening from the pool. Please click on them to enlarge and see the details!

The new (within the past year) hibiscus bush has six blooms on it! Even more beautiful in closeup, except for one factor! They must taste as good as they look. This little muncher was only 1/2 inch long, but when I put my finger out hoping he’d crawl aboard, he must have jumped 7 feet in the air! As good in his leaps as in his chomps.
