Depth of Field
This may be my favorite photo I’ve ever taken. It reminds me of a Monet painting.
This photo of Yolanda’s daughter and son was taken the same day as the trees. I love the sense of wonder both of them gazing into the hazy landscape provides.
I also love the crispness of this turtle against the more muted lily pads.
I don’t know if this shot qualifies as an example of a depth of field shot as prescribed, since most of it is slightly out of focus; but I like the shot and how the flowers stand out a bit. This building conveys such a sense of mystery to me.
I couldn’t decide which of these “Monet” shots I liked best, so I included them both.

I love that turtle!

Thanks, Susan. I snapped it (no pun) in the archeological museum’s garden in Mexico City. It is one of my favorites as well. I probably said that in the post!!

It does look like Monet … Definitely one of the impressionists. Not Cezanne or Van Gogh, however. Maybe Renoir.

I was thinking of one particular painting but couldn’t find it. No, definitely not Van Gogh. Monet was as close as I could come. You might be right about Renoir. Did he have a line of plump trees like mine?

I love the turtle photo. They are beautiful creatures. (I’m a sucker for turtles!) I also like the two “Monet” shots but the second one is my favorite. Delightful way to start the day.

I wonder if there is anyone on earth who doesn’t love turtles? They are such satisfying creatures. Hard on the outside, soft on the inside. The way we like our characters in books and movies.
