About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

Isn’t that hard to figure out? The leaf is lying on a perforated metal bench and the colors are from the ground beneath it. When I first saw it I couldn’t figure out what it was, either. I thought the bench must have had tiny reflective surfaces reflecting the trees above, or perhaps were inlaid with colored glass. Short memory. I’d just taken the photos that morning.

Believe it or not, I wondered about inlaid reflective surfaces, but had actually figured out that it had to be through perforated metal! I didn’t get the bench, but no perspective for that. It makes a neat shot — I really like the offset for the leaf!

Oh that last leaf, the last flower is really saying goodbye (fortunately only for some months!) Love the way you displayed it and added it to All Seasons!
