NaPoWriMo Withdrawal

Well, April (National Poetry Writing Month) is over and so there goes the start to my day. Must say I became addicted to waking up each morning with a fresh topic for poetry presented to me, as weird as some of them may have been. If anyone is still reading this blog, perhaps you would like to suggest a topic for me and I’ll continue to do the poems. I’ll choose from topics submitted each day and continue to do the “act.” If no one suggests a topic, I will slowly fade into the horizon until next April.

I swear, Judy…you and Steven King! I can’t even think as fast as you people can write. But let’s see…wouldn’t want you to go into withdrawals. Why not write about grading essays (high school essays)?????

Oh my God, Ann. I moved 2,000 miles away to escape grading essays and now you want a poem about grading essays. Well, actually, now that i think of it, that’s nothing like grading what someone else has written, so you win the topic of the day (for tomorrow.) Not that I might not find another as well.

I’d have gone into withdrawal too, but April 30 coincided with the day I left Victoria for Seattle for the poetry festival. Now I’m home, surrounded by a huge number of new books to read, Mother’s Day tomorrow…and I tweaked my mss while I was at it. Write something? Maybe I’ll just go to bed! You go, girl!
