Love Stories

DSC06776

Dim Sum are little love poems shaped like a heart. I challenge every reader
to write one and send it to me! For the fun of it, I made mine into a chain of hearts.

Morning Metaphor
When you rise hours early
to stand in front of the window
and watch for the UPS truck,
I shift my dreaming over
to your warm pillow.
If you are a child,
I am a
cat.
The Computer
has become the new hearth
and heart of our home, now
glowing out in the darkness
long after we have moved
to the room next door
to try to sleep
in vain.
A Clock
on the wall of every room
speaks its midnight language
and intrudes into my dreams,
each one telling me I am
another hour closer
to leaving
you.

I love all of them. The line “I shift my dreaming over to your warm pillow.” I wish I had thought of that. They are all so quiet and peaceful. The illustrations are always pertinent and add color, not that any of your words need it, but it’s one more bonus.

Seeing Carolyn’s wonderful art work on Facebook made me want to add color to my blog as well. It is just so inviting to see illustrations on a page. Unfortunately, most bloggers “fancy up” their blogs so much that you can’t really see the art work. The restfulness of a black and white page with a splash of color is so welcoming to me. And, it feels good to acknowledge parts of yourself even if they are not what you are best at. I always enjoy your comments but do not take them for granted. Know you have your own words to tend and friends to tend, and family.
