Daily Duty

The Prompt: What are the things you need to do within 30 minutes of waking up to ensure your day gets off on the right foot? What happened the last time you didn’t do one of these things?

Daily Duty

When I wake up—early or late,
each day I feel I have a date.
The thing I need to do the most
is to check The Daily Post;
then, to write until I’m done—
sometimes drudgery, sometimes fun.

Today it’s just a little ditty.
This waste of time is such a pity,
but superstition drives me to it,
for I feel if I don’t do it,
that I’ve committed a major sin,
and that I’ll never write again.

      I know, pthroughp. I have this feeling that if I let one day go by without posting that I’ll never write again. The opposite side of that coin is that I fear the blogging is keeping me from writing something more meaty…Oh well. In the end we do it for ourselves–right? Judy

        Yes, I have the same feeling, if I let it slip, it will just go, never to be recovered, so I really did a half-hearted attempt just so I could have a post. I promptly fell asleep and then woke up and wrote a ‘real’ post, unfortunately (or fortunately), woke up in a mild panic, so that came through in my second post :), Vonita.

      I haven’t always been, either, but I think it has been adding purpose to my life for a very long time. The older I get, the more I think I like reporting life even more than living it! Thanks for responding, Roger…Judy
