Cees Odd Ball Photo Challenge 2015, Week 14

If you live near the beach or in a lake resort area as I do, the lines of traffic during Semana Santa (Holy Week) in Mexico cause most of us to just stay home.  But I had a reading I had to go to, so this is what I saw during the 45 minutes it took to negotiate a distance that usually takes 15 minutes. First, the small part that I could see of the miles-long bumper-to-bumper traffic.  Someone in the car in front of me was playing intriguing finger-games similar to shadow puppets with no shadow, and local roadside merchants capitalized on the slow traffic with goods perfect for a hot mineral baths area. Meanwhile, the people in the car behind me could not figure out what in the heck I was doing snapping pictures every few seconds.  You’ll no doubt see some of the others in the months to come.  How photography fills in the otherwise boring hours!!Se

I enjoy your posts so much! What I started doing several years ago was underwater photography. I have a Fuji 500 ex with an underwater housing, It’s supposedly good to 200 feet. Little chance it will ever go that deep unless I accidentally drop it. If it’s below 50 feet, it will probably stay there. I love the silence of snorkeling. I can leave the camera in the car too. I usually only carry it around when I am on vacation. I should carry it around more. Maybe you could give me pointers on using “Photoshop”. Your sunsets are beautiful. I find it greatly improves underwater shots too!

All I use is iPhoto, Al…but my friend Sharon is an expert in photoshop. See her work at Zenfolio. Her name is Sharon Wheat. She’s amazing. Do you have to put your camera in the housing or is it manufactured in it? I need to buy an underwater camera that is also good for above water. Is that the all-purpose camera you’d suggest?

For a semi-compulsive shopper, it’s good to be able to pass all the stands without the prayer of stopping! Ha. I did pull over and buy a very large floating plastic inflated crocodile once, that had fun floating in my pool for a week before Diego (dog) ate it!!! Now, I just remain going with the traffic flow.
