Baker’s Dozen
(Only So Much Forgiveness to Go Around)
I forgive you for hogging the covers
and eating the last cookie, too.
I forgive you for doing the crossword
that I was intending to do.
I forgive you for bringing the dog home
that you never have walked even once
and for donating genes to our children
that turned them each into a dunce.
I don’t mind your poker night forays
or the damage you do to my car,
or the fact that your minimal salary
really can’t stretch very far.
Your spare tires and the fact that you’re balding
really don’t bother me much.
I’ve grown used to your slobbery kisses,
and the foreplay no more than a clutch.
But there’s one thing that you always do, dear,
that rouses my most primal scream,
for I had made plans for a tryst with
that last pint of chocolate ice cream!

I believe we discussed this recently. Aren’t you the no-coconut unless in an Almond Joy gal?

That wasn’t me. Though I do love coconut in the Almond Joy. I love anything chocolate and also coconut anything. My mom used to make this cake with coconut frosting. I think that’s where the love affair began/

Well a friend brought the best chocolate I’ve ever had in my life to the party. Must look through the garbage for the wrappers and I’ll share the name. Dumpster diving!!!

Now that’s a good reason for diving into a dumpster.

It was on my desk to my right as I read your comment. It is de la Rosa chocolate oscuro (Dark Chocolate Prmium) It is absolutely incredible! If you can find it in the states, let me know how you like it. I think I’ll buy some here to put in Xmas stockings when I go to AZ for Xmas. Two college friends are coming to my sister’s house as well. Fun.
