Mac Users? Please Help.

Update: Found! See my next post.

Something strange has happened to my Photos program on my MacBook Air.  When I import photos, they go into my last import album, I edit them, and normally they’ve always stayed in my photo file.  But for the past 4 days, when I take new pictures, all the photos from the last shoot disappear.  They are not in my library nor are they in the last shoot album, since they’ve been replaced.  Can anyone help with this?  I’m beside myself because I’ve lost all these great pictures and hours of editing!!!  Thanks…Judy

About lifelessons

My blog, which started out to be about overcoming grief, quickly grew into a blog about celebrating life. I post daily: poems, photographs, essays or stories. I've lived in countries all around the globe but have finally come to rest in Mexico, where I've lived since 2001. My books may be found on Amazon in Kindle and print format, my art in local Ajijic galleries. Hope to see you at my blog.

Thanks so much, Lary, for encouraging me to call for tech help at Apple. I talked to 3 people and after hours of waiting on the phone, finally got a solution! Such a relief.

I was on the phone for hours, but the third guy I talked to figured it out. He rebuilt my photos library and they all came back. Such a relief. Call 1 800 275 2273 and while you are at it, request that they show the id # of the photo beneath it like iphoto used to. My tech guy said I was the 4th person he’d had request this this week and that if enough people requested it, that they might enact a change. Let me know if your problem gets fixed. In the meantime, I just make an album for all of the pictures while they are in the last import album and I can copy them from it before they disappear.

Glad to hear you got you photos back. Please be careful. Do not erase anything off any of your devices!!! Apple has a “new” way of organizing your photos they all go into their iCoud once they are on your computer. I keep all my photos on a external hard drive. No photos are on my computer, I only open iPhoto when the hard drive is plugged in from their I can edit and organize.
I lost a lot of photo a few years ago so I am very, very careful.
For safety I also have my photos on Google Photos.

    Good Luck
