This beach companion was fascinated by my Diet Coke. Pedro says this is proof that they actually do slip sugar into diet drinks here.

He ended up submerged, in spite of my best efforts to dissuade him from taking the icy dip. This called for pouring the coke and corpus onto the sand. In lieu of artificial respiration, I blew on him and from a seemingly comatose state, he came to, crawled away, and in time flew away. I wonder how many watery graves this fellow has escaped.
I don’t know if that’s legal proof of sugar in the diet Pepsi, but I believe it.

Ha. I prefer not to. There certainly is more sugar in the regular Pepsi and Coke here.

Quite a sugar dunking he got.

Sugarless I hope.

You know I’d have withdrawn to another table while you were snapping shots of the bee, right? I wonder what story he told when he returned to the hive.

I am positive you would have. And if it had been a wasp, I would have needed to pour that Coke over your face to bring you “to” after you fell into a dead faint.

I love these pics. I am starting to believe that bee’s like to have their picture taken.

Ha! I must say it is a lot easier when they are not flying. I’ve seen some remarkable photos on other blogs but I’ve never really been able to capture them on the wing. I was thrilled to get these. It was worth having to pour my Coke out to resuscitate the little honeymaker.

It is fun seeing all of those “likes” in a row that tell me you’ve read and viewed a number of posts at a time. You know how to make a blogger feel appreciated, Roger! Thanks for not only reading but letting me know that you’ve been there. Judy

This is poetic fiction, by the way–except for my propensity for falling.
