   I will give that tree branch E for effort that’s for sure, it appears to me the thorns on it are running the wrong direction, seems like thorns usually go up, the bird seems quite sure of himself.

      It is the long branch of a bougainvillea bush. There are two varieties and this is the bush rather than the vine. I think a bush qualifies as a small tree and yes, it was growing straight up..It was very far away so I was glad for once that my hand seemed to stay steady with the zoom lens.
