How cruel of life at end of day
that all of us should fade away,
one head going hoary white,
ready to give up the fight
while all around it, fresher shoots
sturdier and less hirsute
push upward in the dawning morn,
the meadow to freshly adorn.
The prompt word today was “Faded.”

Won’t we all fade away at the end of day? It’s scary yet so true. Your words gave this picture a philosophical approach.

We fade, yet are then reborn … rejoice! The king is dead, long live the king! Cheers Jamie

Great piece, Judy! Life is certainly cruel – and you have captured the fact that all life is mortal so beautifully

Thanks, Darryl. I so appreciate those who take the time to let me know they’ve read and connected.

Timely for me. Just said goodbye to an “Old friend.”

So sorry to hear that. It never gets easier. In a way it gets harder every time, I think.
