Where Time Goes

 Version 2

Where Time Goes

They have not vanished without a trace.
Past years are written on your face.
They web your skin like finest lace,
its former smoothness to efface,
and write a story in its place.

The prompt today was replacement.

I know, Marilyn. I was thinking the same thing. They look beautiful and real–not perfect, as in dentures. She always dresses to beat the band.. interestingly and artfully. And she’s looked the same age for the 16 years I’ve known her.

“like finest lace” Inspired! I was noticing in the mirror yesterday the effects of time on my face, too. Now, when I think of the patient effort that constitutes fine lace, I can smile at those little lines.
