
I found this fellow just outside my gate. He was about an inch and a half long. I’ve seen them here before but I can’t remember the name. Rotated one turn to the right, it looks like an African mask.

I tried to find the name of it by Googling “Insect that looks like an African mask” and found one photo–that said “African Mask Bug” but didn’t know what it was either. ha.

That’s a really interesting bug! Does it bite?

I’m not sure. It looks a bit like one that creates an unpleasant scent when threatened, bu much more exotic in its markings.

That must be one of those famous Tribal-Mask-Wannabe bugs you hear so much about. 😉
Tooday’s prompt word at Daily Addiction is abundant and your post reminds me that I’m abundantly blessed to live here. We’re going to have hoppers in abundance this summer, but at least we don’t have inch long beasties like that. I hope it’s shy?
