I have been watching birds since I was in my 20s. I have a book, and I mark the date when I first saw that bird. I find it exciting, but it doesn’t tickle everyones’ fancies 🙂

I love that idea. I had one of the curators of the Smithsonian come visit and she got up every morning and took my bird books and marked down all the birds she saw in the book each day. I love it that I still have her notations in my books.
