I am grateful for my life,
fluid and oblong
and gold.
I keep looking
for the reason why,
when it might have been static
and gray
with jagged edges.
The prompt words today are grateful, fluid, oblong and gold. Here are the links, in case you want to play along and use one or more for motivation! As usual, I’ve used all four.

I packed a suitcase this morning. Then traditional dinner and the early evening with friends — 9 of us and a dog. Tomorrow I will go to Santa Barbara for several days.

I used to go to a writer’s conference in Santa Barbara. Still have a couple of friends who live there.

Nice one. :-)…
…but i would not call it a matter of luck, but of choice. You chose to see it from that perspective whereas at other times, or other people, may have seen exactly the same thing through the latter perspective. You made the right choice(s) imho. 😉
There’s a Hibiscus dedicated to you over at my blog. 🙂

And I’m just trying to get one posted as well but my photo editing goes soooooo slow now that they go to the cloud first. Hate it!

Hmmmm… I’ve been having a problem with WP slowly updating photos around this time of day for a week or more… it might not just be your internet connection but a rush on WP servers/slow down due to maintenance?? Most of the time it is ok – just for an hour or two now.

That may add to the problem, but it is because I have three computers networked and my main computer is trying to upload an additional 50,000 photos to the cloud. In 10 days it haduploaded 33,000 but that was with forgottenman’s faster upload speed. Telmex has horrible service here and no alternative at present. They’re putting in a competing fiberoptic system that I will go to if it is every finished.

Got ya! The internet is weird – here our goverment had a ‘master plan’ called NBN (National Broadband Network) that was supposed to provide us all with a superior Fibre optic broadband to our home ( a 100Mbs service) replacing the copper wire telephone network internet we have. The government changed and the new lot slashed the plan to fibre to a shared node, not to each home and offers plans at 12.5,25, 50 and 100 MAX speds but which rarely do better than 50% of that. 😦
Now 5G is being promised ( and delivered only in some places like Capital cities with high usage) at +100MB speeds ( again probably dependent upon how many use it at the same time. 😦 )
Meanwhile i’m stuck on telephone wire and am at the far end of the exchange distance so get a max of 2.6Mbs – sigh.
Roll on 5G.

I feel your pain. I can get 2.5 or 5 but usually it is the 2.5 with many breaks in service during the day.

Someone else said the same thing to me recently when I was remarking on how lucky we were to be where we were doing what we were doing when so many others go through such terrible experiences. She said, ‘But you’ve had horrible things happen to you in your life, Judy,” and I said, “Yes, but I’ve been lucky enough to survive them all! But, I guess you are right. That is a matter of attitude.

That’s the real key to our happiness – our perspective/attitude.. is where it really starts. 🙂

Do you know how forgottenman’s doing – he doesn’t post much does he?? 🙂

No. He’s a wonderful writer and songwriter and guitarist, but he rarely does any of them. He patrols my blog for apostrophes and single parentheses and combs the net for info of all types. He’s started a great book but won’t venture further than the first chapter. He read it at a reading series I used to sponsor here in Mexico and everyone loved it, but alas. I might try to get him to videotape the song he wrote and put it online, and he occasionally writes a reply poem to one of mine, but other than that, he is more of an observer than participant. He’s kept a copy of 8 years of Skype conversations between us but it would take a year to read and listen to all of them as we are in pretty constant contact all day long. Like a house partner living in a far distant room but always present.

That’s cool! I’m not really a fan of the pressure of feeling like i have to post all the time or post really personal stuff. Right now i do like to blog more than is probably good for me – or anyone else! 🙂

I’m addicted. Haven’t been going down to the studio for 2 years. I enjoy doing art so that I must break free of blog!!! Now and then. . .

Ah. He is well. I just visited him for a month. He’s now busy turning his house back into a man cave and clearing all the salad ingredients and vegetables out of his fridge to return it to his normal state as well.
